Planning Board Meeting Schedule

Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, the Planning Board of the Borough of East Rutherford hereby provides notice of the following public meetings: 

Regular meetings of the Planning Board of the Borough of East Rutherford shall be conducted on the following dates in the year 2019; February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 21, November 18, and December 9.  The Planning Board will hold its 2020 reorganization meeting in 2020 on January 13, 2020. 

Each of these meetings shall consist of a work session which is open to the public which commences at 6:30 p.m. and the regular public meeting which shall commence at 7:00p.m.  All of the meetings set forth in this notice shall be held in the second floor Council Chambers at the East Rutherford Municipal Building, 1 Everett Place, East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Formal action may be taken at each of the aforementioned meetings.

Public Hearing on a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment Investigation

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on Monday, October 21, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. the East Rutherford Planning Board (“Planning Board”) will conduct a public hearing to determine whether or not to recommend to the Mayor and Council whether a study area located in the Borough of East Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey, known as the “150 Union Avenue” Study Area, as more particularly described below, qualifies under the Statutory Criteria for designation as an " Non-Condemnation Area In Need of Redevelopment" (also known as a "Redevelopment Area") under the New Jersey Local Redevelopment & Housing Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-1 et. seq. ~ “Redevelopment Law”).

Such area is more particularly described as: Block 77, Lots 3, 4 and 5 on the official tax map of the Borough of East Rutherford.

The Planning Board hearing will take place in Council Chambers of the East Rutherford Municipal Building, One Everett Place, East Rutherford, New Jersey 07073.

At the public hearing, the Planning Board will review a Report entitled "Area in Need of Redevelopment Investigation for Block 77, Lots 3, 4 and 5, Borough of East Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey, prepared by Phillips Preiss Grygiel Leheny Hughes LLC Planning and Real Estate Consultants (dated September 13, 2019).  Such Report outlines the findings that will be presented at the Planning Board’s October 21, 2019 public hearing.

Any and all interested persons may attend the Planning Board hearing and provide testimony, ask questions, state objections or express support to the Planning Board in regard to this matter.

The inclusion of a particular property under a Non-Condemnation Redevelopment Area designation DOES NOT authorize the Borough to exercise the power of eminent domain to acquire any property in the delineated area.

In accordance with N.J.S.A.  40A:12A-1 et. seq., a Map of the area that is the subject matter of this public hearing and a Statement setting forth the basis for the Investigation has been filed with the Borough Clerk.  This Map specifically identifies the area that is the subject matter of the hearing.  The Map, Statement and Report of Findings may be viewed upon request at the office of the Borough Clerk, at the East Rutherford Municipal Building, One Everett Place, East Rutherford, New Jersey  07073.  The office is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
