ATTENTION: 2018 parking and street usage improvements

Attention to all residents, businesses, and visitors to the Borough of East Rutherford:

As most people living, conducting business, or visiting are aware, parking in many areas in the Borough is at a premium. Over the course of the next few months, in a cooperative effort between the East Rutherford Police Department and East Rutherford Department of Public Works, the streets and curbs of the Borough will be getting repainted and marked with designated parking spaces, as well as other improvements to help make parking and street usage better for all who come to the Borough.

The overall project is expected to be done on a street-by-street basis. The project will be more time consuming on some streets as opposed to other streets. This will depend on what projects have to be completed on each street. There will be signage placement as well as replacement of older and more worn signs. Some of the streets in the Borough are in need of more work than others, but each street is being evaluated for the appropriate work as needed. Handicapped parking spaces are also being evaluated as to the need for certain spaces.

The East Rutherford Police Department will be out enforcing the traffic and parking laws and is asking that all motorists obey these laws. Please follow any posted signs and be sure to take notice of any "Emergency No Parking" signs posted on Borough streets. Your cooperation and patience are needed.

We hope to get this project completed over the course of the remainder of the Spring and possibly into the Summer months. The project is going to be finished as quickly as possible barring any unforeseen issues. Our objective is to make it easier for motorists to park in a safe and legal manner.
